A* in Maths

For students entering in 2010, Imperial require an A* in maths for mech engineering. is wondering if it is actually possible to get an A* in maths. In in yr 12 and have already done A -Level maths

Yeah, they're introducing A* into A Levels from next year onwards.

do not cash it until next year and you will be eligible for A* :smile:

Im sure they'll be understanding if you've done A level maths before they brought in A*s. Worth an email though.

It doesn't matter.

They know what year you took the A level and Imperial will request your module scores and will see that you achieved an A*.

They'll want an A* in Maths if you cash it in in 2010, if you're cashing it in in 2009 they won't and can't expect you to have an A* in it. They may ask for an A with a 90% average over C3 and C4, though, which is equivalent... but I doubt that they will.
