US airport checks are state sponsored sexual assault.

Poll

US airport checks amount to state sponsored sexual assault.

You're forced to give up your most basic right to privacy over your own body.

Here's a video account from the bbc.

She's was clearly traumatised in the same way as a sexual assault and physically it amounts to the same thing. In any other circumstances it would be illegal and the person doing it would be sent to jail.

Remember this poll isn't about whether or not you think it's necessary, it's just about whether it amounts to sexual assault or not. I think it clearly does, but what do you think?

Vote: US airport checks are state sponsored sexual assault, agree or disagree?

It's not sexual assault.
I've heard of this before. Complete and utter idiots refusing to go through security because they don't want someone to see their genitals or rolls of fat. These people should just be beaten and refused their flight.

Full body intimate touching by a complete stranger with a very high degree of coercion.

Not sexual assault? Can you expand on that with reasons?
Hence why my sister will probably never fly - she'd bite their hand if they tried to do that to her!!

But meeh... I don't think it's assualt per se, just probably very uncomfortable. I suppose as long as it's done in a private area (i.e. not in front of twenty other people), doesn't involve stripping off unless necessary and can be carried out by a member of the same sex it shouldn't be a problem.

I just came back from the US, and I didn't have any of that. It was just a regular security check the same as when I went from Gatwick. No full body scanners or inappropriate touching.

Just get over it. Yes it's uncomfortable but it's not like they strip you naked or give you an anal probe.

it's not because the people agree to it, it's their choice to go to the airport and their choice not to go in the scanners people aren't being forced in to the situation and touched against their will

Well, it's not really sexual assault.

I imagine it's uncomfortable to have your personal space invaded like that, but it's not sexual...in the same way that a gynaecologist feeling around a woman's vagina isn't sexual, or having a colonoscopy at the hospital isn't sexual.

You trust your doctor because you know them and you know that they have only your best interests at heart. That's really not the case with a random airport security agent.

You can opt out of both of those procedures and I know people do, but if your job requires you to travel or if you wish to take your family on holiday, you really don't have much of a choice.

The degree of coercion is much higher here.

Speak for yourself.
I lol'd, then realised that I'd have to be felt up by a man.

I've had a similar check done because the metal detectors kept going off before a flight back from Italy this summer, I didn't think it was sexual assault, they have to check if you're hiding anything in your bra or basically in your underwear. It's not a groping, there's no sexual intent like in a sexual assault, I didn't feel violated at any point basically. Sure it wasn't great being pulled aside for it but I'd rather they did it if they have their suspicions.

Being touched up in a club by some pervy drunk guy you're trying to push away is closer to sexual assault in my opinion

Edit: Neg rep for my opinion? Go for it. I'm still fine with a woman checking if there's a bomb in my bra.

It would be ended fairly soon if other countries had the same policy towards US citizens.

The woman is an over-sensitive idiot.
These people will check everywhere but are quick and professional about it and always get someone of the same sex to check you. If you can't handle that then you need to go see a shrink as you clearly have issues.

Just take some porn and warm your willy up before you go through so then when you got a massive rock on walking through you can look like this

' :smug: ' look what im packing.....

yes you may be fat but you also have a massive wanger which more than makes up for it.

------

That woman moaning about feeling like she's being sexually assaulted is delusional.

1) She's probably never been sexually assaulted and thus its rather insulting to people who have

2) They do the best they can in the interests of the world and the people in it, if she doesn't want to go through such intense security checks then she shouldn't fly, simple.

i enjoy it
It only becomes a 'sexual' issue when idiots make it so, otherwise it's just a security check. No issue here.

Anal probes? Hmm. What if a terrorist inserts/swallows a couple kilos of cemtex and blows up a plane.

Do you think that anal probes would be justified at that point? There will be people in the security services that will think so.

OK Marc - how about YOUR BUTTHOLE - is that OK too?

HELLO PEOPLE are we in the freakin land of OZ here? YOU WANT the cops to stick their fingers in your butthole or female holes just because they don't like the look of your haircut? Are you serious? Get real. These psychos need to be stopped.

If you think that you could take down a plane by hiding a gun up your butthole then you must be friggin crazy - anyhow the metal detector would go off anyhow - this kind of goverment authorised abuse in TOTALLY SICK and UNJUSTIFIED and should never be carried out unless their is a very serious weight of evidence to suspect someone of hiding a plastic gun made of plastic bullets in their butthole and then maybe it would be justified.

Your located in Iceland eh? So in order to avoid being "molested" you would be happy to confine yourself to Iceland for the rest of your life? And you think that every other icelander should be too?

The restriction is unreasonable even for people from a larger country like the USA.
