Mcleish always seemed to be pointing up the pitch, as if to say 'give the long ball to Heskey and Gabby'. I hate that kind of play as we just always end up giving up possession.

I second the notion that Bannan should start every game though. We could do with a few additions in the transfer window as well.
it's just ugly to watch
Heskey more effective than Suarez :holmes:

As if we didn't know it all along :colonhash:
Oh and on the subject of Villa players being better than Liverpool counterparts, rumours are swirling ever deeper than Dalglish wants Bent. Mcleish has said he doesn't want to sell and noone could afford him anyway, but hypothetically if it happened would it be for better or worse? :beard:

Worse for use and basically another Carroll for us :sigh:
He's obviously better than Carroll tbf. Can actually run and also can score if provided the ample opportunities that the Liverpool midfield creates for him. Would also mean that Suarez can continue his hard working, non scoring role that Heskey currently plays for us :beard:
If we sell Bent it's basically admitting that we are heading to the Championship. What warms my heart is that Mcleish said that it was injuries to Martins and Zigic (lol, right) that saw his side relegated last year and wouldn't sell a goalscorer now. Whether all that nonsense is just to keep Bent's price up is another thing.

If we sold him we might buy a midfield who can actually control, pass, move, run, etc. But then we'd be mighty reliant on Gabby for all our goals and he will inevitably get injured immediately :facepalm2:

We have Bannan and Gardner who can do that!

Dalglish wants Bent.

I doubt it.

Dalglish doesn't sign black players.

No offer from Liverpool, or any club for Darren Bent. These things are just rumours until proven true.

IMO, Bannan definitely is not a winger, he's a little playmaker that should play in a midfield trio or in the hole, similar to Stephen Ireland. Bannan's got a super pass on him so he should not be limited to crossing and switching the play. Maybe McLeish could rotate Heskey/Bannan when needed.

Or get rid of the H Bomb and leave him on the bench.

What a stupid thing to say.

John Barnes? He was pretty good..

Must be pretty frustrating though at Villa, thinking of the players they've had and sold over the past few years along with manager chances etc. :frown:

They're just a feeder club to the big boys. And now that McLies is at the helm they will be lucky to still be that when he's done with them

Edit* Don't get butt hurt, you are a feeder club to the likes of Man United, Liverpool and Man City. As soon as Agbonlahor learns to finish he will be off too along with Bent who is already rushing for the exits.

And Birmingham are still in our shadow
Holding the Carling Cup.
but in the Championship  Small Heath's biggest trophy we won it 5 times.

In other news Stephen Ireland in the news again

Heskey vs Torres.
Didn't take long for the History lesson to begin.
Biggest trophy Villa have won in a generation or two.

As for Ireland he is just a scrote and should just disappear from the game because he clearly isn't interested in playing it anymore.
He played well till he got injured against Arsenal but other than that he's done **** all for us
