You wouldn't be so sarcastic if your friend went ballistic with you for putting her photo on the web. Forgive me for checking she knew about it.

Alright alright, i was only joking aha

It's so encouraging that lots of people on here think you pass. (I may post a picture of myself to see if similar is thought eventually :ninja:)

Do it, do it!

(Of your own accord, when you feel comfortable enough of course!)

I signed that ages ago, but I'm hoping others on the thread do similar

I'll drink to that!

If I saw you in the street, I wouldn't think that you wasn't a guy.
In all honesty no, the bottom half of your face is quite femenine and makes it obv your female.

I looked at your pic before I read u were trans btw.

Negged for being honest?

Why do you have a piercing underneath your lip?

I have snake bite piercings. Just got them about 5 weeks ago.

Please dont be offended; but do you have a photo when you were a girl :colondollar:
you look like a real guy and am sure the girls would love you as a boy!

The reason why im asking if you have a photo when you were a girl because you seem really preety ( if i may use that word).

I kind of know this girl in the US who has made herself to look like a guy but she looks really preety and I sometimes wish she was a girl ( like act like a girl;though she is a girl) and at least my age

by the way are you from philly???? since your location states pensylvania.....

Enjoy your new gender and welcome to the gender of boys

Since then I have cut my hair even shorter and now wear it in a fohawk

I'd definitely say you pass, although at the more androgynous end of things - a bit like an emo version of Justin Bieber.

That said, we haven't heard your voice / seen the rest of your body, so it's hard to say totally.

Edit: I've just seen your slideshow, and I definitely reckon that the rest of your body passes too

Depends where you live. I definitely think you look male (but then I subscribe to the radical notion that someone is whatever gender they define themselves as :ahee:) but in a diverse area/a gay club, you may be read as a butch lesbian. You may also not. But I know a few transguys who are on T and have stubble who have been read as butch lesbians. That said, you may not frequent gay clubs or diverse areas, so...

Height also plays into it (although I was served by a cisgender man in Superdrug the other day who was under 5'0 tall!), as does dress sense, and how effective your binding method is. Your voice will also have an effect. If it's naturally low/you have a permanent cold, then you'll be fine, but I've had a lot of awkward occasions where I've actually passed as male until I've opened my mouth (I'm quite high-pitched).

(Have you tried shaving the hair on your face even though obviously it's still fine and light? This can make it grow in a bit darker and thicker, giving you a tiny bit of stubble to the feel - I'd recommend it if you're not on T yet.)

That all said, it is quite encouraging that TSR mostly seems to think you look pretty male.

I was wondering that - the majority of transgendered people usually must end up being unusually short men/unusually tall women?

I don't know if you're aware of this (and your post's sentiment is lovely, so I'd imagine you don't!) but 'ladyboy' is generally considered a pretty offensive term in the trans community; it's one that originated from porn, which isn't the most complimentary of industries. Not that I want to jump on you when your intentions are obviously good, just thought it might be helpful to know
Ah! I did not know this. :colondollar: The only reason I even thought of it is because my family went to a (non-dodgy!) show and it was in the name. Thanks. :colondollar:

It honestly depends. I'm about 5'7.5 myself, which lets me pass as a shortish man; not tall by any stretch of the imagination, but not so short that people say 'my GOD, you're TINY'. But then I know some transguys who are around 5'2. I do feel really bad for them. You can get shoes that boost your height without it being obvious, but should a transwoman have the opposite problem, there's precisely nothing she can do :frown:

You must be the first transguy ever to comfortably put pictures of himself pre-transition in a public place :holmes: Out of interest, are you on T?

Have you heard of height-enhancing shoes? They're meant to add a few inches without being obvious  If you're from a short family (I have a friend whose dad is shorter than I am...) then that will also work in your favour in terms of explaining things.

You were more attractive before. Now you look Mexican.

No...not on T unfortunately :frown:

I don't mind putting old pictures of myself up...as long as people know that is not really me and don't view me that way.

I will admit I was kinda hesitant to put it up because I didn't want people to view me as anything other than male.....now I'm thinking about taking it down..

I had always wondered this.. I assumed that it would be a very offensive word but then it was all over the place. Like recently with the Thai airline who have got a crew that consists of 'ladyboys'. Thats how it was actually written on Dailymail (i know i know it's a **** newspaper anyway) but i found it appalling that they just got away with it and didnt see anything wrong with it!!

I personally don't tell people my birth name (unless they knew it already, in which case I refuse to respond to it) and don't share pictures of myself pre-transition. While some people are decent and won't use your birth name and will always see you as male, there are LOTS of people who see that as the 'real' you and will see your male image as somehow an alteration, as opposed to coming home. :frown:

TSR is not the most supportive of places generally speaking (this thread has been uncommonly nice, and while I'm glad of that, do be aware that there are a lot of dicks on here). While I think it's fabulous that you feel comfortable putting this sort of information online (good for you ) do be aware that you don't have to do so should you not desire to do so. You're well within your rights to never show anyone pre-transition photos ever again.
