At most you pass as a lesbian, a guy? No chance.

I personally don't tell people my birth name (unless they knew it already, in which case I refuse to respond to it) and don't share pictures of myself pre-transition. While some people are decent and won't use your birth name and will always see you as male, there are LOTS of people who see that as the 'real' you and will see your male image as somehow an alteration, as opposed to coming home. :frown:

TSR is not the most supportive of places generally speaking (this thread has been uncommonly nice, and while I'm glad of that, do be aware that there are a lot of dicks on here). While I think it's fabulous that you feel comfortable putting this sort of information online (good for you ) do be aware that you don't have to do so should you not desire to do so. You're well within your rights to never show anyone pre-transition photos ever again.

You are right. Unfortunately in the short time I've been on here I have come across a lot of ass holes.

Honestly the reason I did that slideshow was because I have seen other transguys put a timeline transition video on youtube. So I decided one day to do one too. Now I'm kinda rethinking it...you are right...I don't want people to see me as a "altercation".

I had always wondered this.. I assumed that it would be a very offensive word but then it was all over the place. Like recently with the Thai airline who have got a crew that consists of 'ladyboys'. Thats how it was actually written on Dailymail (i know i know it's a **** newspaper anyway) but i found it appalling that they just got away with it and didnt see anything wrong with it!!

It was also on the Guardian :colonhash: 'Thai ladyboy' and the like is an idea so common in porn that it's pretty much passed into common usage. (I hasten to add that I'm not a transwoman so I can't complain that I'm personally offended by it, but it's really not a compliment or an acceptable term).

Trans rights, sadly, still have so far to go (we only got anti-discrimination legislation in 2010 :ahee:) that things like rude terms being used in mainstream papers are pretty much par for the course. Most people don't seem to know that they're offensive, and the journalists that write the articles either aren't informed or don't care. It's wrong either way, but there we go; trans people are pretty much universally seen as either curiosities, or as the punchline to some joke.

I do hope that I'll see trans rights get to the point that such things just Aren't Done before I die :moon:

I am FTM transgender [female to male]

I was wondering how well I pass...I get very self conscious out in public sometimes.

yes, you pass as a guy . . . but as a pretty guy (big eyes and fullish lips) . . .

It's so encouraging that lots of people on here think you pass. (I may post a picture of myself to see if similar is thought eventually :ninja:)

What sexuality are you?

I'm afraid that the world is full of absolute arses. People tend to be even more obvious about it on TSR, because they have full anonymity should they so desire it.

I've seen transguys do that, but... I wouldn't do it personally. Good for anyone who wants to do it (and don't feel that you have to take the video down just because I wouldn't do it, or something ) but it's not something that I'd see as reflecting my actual self. While I do acknowledge to people who care about me that I was socialised as female, I see it as completely incidental to my life, so I wouldn't want to make it apparent visually - especially since people can be incredibly nasty online.

I don't think that that's any of your business :pierre:

wait, so over time ur body changed or you want to change?
if when you were born and your body changed it's sex automatically then for example if you get your period then you are a girl, if you don't get your period or you produce sperm then you are a boy.

just looking at the images i could feel this little girl in you, but i know that you feel and look like a boy so i think it makes you a boy. congrats.

if you want to change yourself to become another sex because you feel like it, then i think do what you feel that you are but keep in mind that to love your self no matter what you are male or female and love your body.

(if i did say something that i might had upset you, then i am sorry. it's just that i don't know how it feels as a trans)

good luck! xx

I didn't mean any offense, I was just curious D:

I'll snoop around and find it, mind you :colonhash:

If I noticed you I'd know 100% you're male..

Humans have evolved over thousands of years, were smart even if you had PS done all over your face we would still know

EDIT - I realized my mistake, and I'm suprised, how is that possible, OP I think you're lying.

Epic fail!

For someone who wants to protect their anonymity, you talk about it a hell of a lot.

It's on my profile :awesome: Hence why I don't tend to react 100% positively to questions about it

But none of you people know who I am in real life

Plus, I had precisely no desire to be open about this on TSR; I simply changed my gender marker from pink to blue, and then got asked lots of personal questions by, erm, about everyone! Which I decided it would be best to answer, on grounds that most people on here seem to be clueless about trans issues, and it might help them to learn stuff.

Surely it wouldn't be hard for someone who knew you offline to work out that this is your account - after all, how many transmen are there doing Maths & MFL at UCL? I've worked out who another member is in real life, just by tying a few facts together in a similar way, and it wouldn't be too hard for someone to do it to me too.

If it helps you pass for a guy when at a right angle. If you can keep that up, you're set.

There's only 5 people on the course anyway. It wouldn't be too hard to find me if someone wanted to

I don't mind people who ALREADY know me offline finding out that I use TSR; I'm out about everything in real life (an inability to lie comes in handy, I don't think :ahee:) and I'm not scared of what people would say. I just don't fancy people who know me from TSR tracking me down in real life. Which would be pretty difficult for them if they weren't UCL students. If they were UCL students, fair enough, but I have enough friends at UCL (and crucially, they have enough anti-discrimination legislation) that I wouldn't be scared about UCL students disliking me either.

just seeing this, and listening to your voice, i might have to classify you as a girl.

i remember there was this girl in our school that if you saw here, you would say she's deffinatly a boy, she dresses up like one and feels like one. however she's in the girl's basketball team! but i dunno if she's a trans, maybe just a tom boy. i mean some people get mixed up with tom boy and trans

Yeah, unfortunately my voice doesn't pass at all. But that will all change once I start T.

So wait am I supposed to find you attractive or not?
You pass really well to me! I think it's great trans people are beginning to post openly on these forums, the only way to get rid of ignorance is to educate.
