My boyfriend went travelling around Europe alone last month and according to him it wasn't as difficult to meet people as he expected because he was kind of forced into having to ask for help and socialise because he was on his own. He said he got on really well with lots of people he met in hostels from different countries and they were able to talk about their different cultures and stuff like that, which sounds interesting. He took advantage of going to events and concerts and museums and tours, so there were lots of people there he could start up a conversation with. It's probably a good idea to ask local people about the best things to do and places to go because they'll know best obviously and it's a good conversation starter too. Just try and be as confident and willing to talk to people as possible and I think you'll find that it becomes more natural and easy the more you do it. Have fun!

Hey, sorry to OP for butting into the conversation but is it considered socially acceptable to go to events and concerts and stuff on your own as a lone traveller? I might be doing some solo exploring myself soon as friends are all busy with work D:, was wondering how to go about it lol.

I think with stuff like concerts you kind of blend into the crowd anyway, so I don't think you'd feel too awkward doing it alone It's a good place to talk to people as well because you're all there for the same reason. If you meet people along the way you can always go to events with them as well, potentially.
