Yeah, it was called Roaming Robots I think. Wasn't televised or anything though. But they recently acquired the Robot Wars name. http://www.robotwars.tv/

Firefly was killed by its network in the most retarded way possible.

30 Rock is a good example of an absolutely great show, that due to its critical acclaim (nominated for 112 Emmy awards, won 16!) survived for 7 seasons in spite of low ratings.

The IT Crowd! Also perhaps Terra Nova, although maybe the latter was in fact good because an adventure was starting to turn into a family drama with shallow nonsensical plot and irritating acting.
