Exam Techniques for GCSE Science

As I have been studying for the AQA Science GCSE recently, I have noticed that as I am working through the material I usually understand the content. However, when I do past papers I sometimes get confused about what a question is asking and I find it difficult to apply my knowledge correctly.

Does anyone else get this same problem?
And does anyone have any exam techniques specifically for science?

Thanks

Here's a few tips:

Record yourself talking and listen to yourself when you commute

Makes notes on every topic

Try summarising your content

Talk through all content with someone willing to listen

Revision cards are good for summarising

I'm sure once you've covered all the content you won't find it difficult to apply your knowledge to the question.

Other exam tips:

Take your time to read the question carefully

Underline keywords to emphasise to yourself what you are looking to answer

If ever in an exam situation you don't have enough time to answer a question then bullet point the key points of the essay you could have written

Be sure to use keywords as that's what gets you the marks

Hope this helps! :h:
