Maths gap year

Hello I messed up my A level a year early and probably won't be applying this year (if I haven't got an A* as I want to go to Oxbridge desperately) so I will have to take a gap year. Is there any way I can spend it doing something impressive e.g. first year maths at a uni abroad. I don't want any work experience/ volunteering suggestions if possible. Please somebody help me. I've searched so many places but I can't find anything.😕

I think gap years aren't really in favour of a Mathematics course as there isn't much you can do related to your course other than self-teach yourself all the A-Level maths and further maths modules you've missed or read a few books related to maths. If you can take a year of maths aborad somehow, go for it.
