A level help!

Hi I'm going to start sixth form in September and I'm really confused on what to pick. I want to be lawyer or solicitor and have chosen maths, psychology,history and english lit. But now I'm rethinking on picking maths because i don't enjoy it , and whether I should pick english lit, history , biology and chemistry because i like science. Is that a good choice - PLEASE HELP!

Hey- if you don't like maths then don't take it! You'll spend a lot of time studying these subjects so if you don't enjoy them it might not be worth it. Have a look on some university websites and see what subjects they suggest or require for law (I think English and history sound very good already in terms of skills.)
If you think you could achieve better grades and enjoy yourself more doing sciences along with English and history then that would be the better option. That's just my opinion, but ask your school and go with what makes you happy and gives you a good shot at getting into a law course

Thank you! However say if i changed my mind and wanted to go into medicine at a later date do you think i could still get in with only 2 sciences and no maths .

Yeah, the only med school that asks for maths is Cambridge so you should be fine.

Ditch english lit and history. Pick bio/chem for one and do Law as an A-Level externally self-taught. That's what my friend did and he's off to Warwick to do Law.

Thanks for the advice but the sixth form i want to go to doesn't do Law as an option!

If you enjoy sciences and want to do law then an optimal combination for you would be Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, and Law as an external subject. Your school should allow it if you find an exam board who can allow you to self teach it.

If you don't enjoy maths, wouldn't recommend taking it. This may sound silly but if you find maths easy it's a walk in the park, otherwise it's going to be very hard. There's a lot of emphasis on algebra, graphs and skills like differentiation and integration. If these are the parts of maths you hate, don't do it. Pick an alternative science

History and English literature certainly strike me as being a good combination for law as I've heard/seen a lot of universities are fond of A level History for law applicants.

Have you chosen psychology as a relaxing/easier option compared to the others because this is how it reads? I'm about to start A2 psychology and am applying to study it at university and it's very hard, harder than maths I would say. There's an awful lot of content to learn, requires a lot of revision and there's an emphasis on scientific research and biology (more so when you get to A2 where there's a *lot* of biology related content, so if you like science psychology is very good in that regard)

Do what you enjoy. Please. I've seen too many peoplefail because they've picked subjects they think sound nice, are forced into them or just didn't think their A Levels through properly.

English Literature and History are awesome choices for a degree in Law.Definitley do them (espeically because you enjoy them)

If you enjoy Biology/Chemistry, do them! But do remember, there's a huge jump between GCSE and AS (as cliche as it sounds). I can only speak
for Biology-- the content is super easy, if you think you're good at sciences, but the exam strurcture and exam style is horrendous. Plus, if you're
trying to escape from maths, please note there is a statistics section in OCR Biology (not that bad tbh, considering i'm crap at maths lol- but I did
struggle at some points).

Thanks for the advice, I wouldn't say that I'm really **** at maths like i get Bs and As but I'm not sure if i should pick it or not- because i think it could lead to more opportunities in uni but idk.
