Not great, not terrible. But it's quite expensive. You're better off eating off campus if you want value.

Well I think Cass students know they're in the better part of City University. But I don't think they look down on everyone else to be honest.

What do you mean by separation though? I mean, students from both Cass and the main university do socialise with each other. From what I've seen, everyone gets on well with each other but of course the Cass students are closer with each other.

They just take your picture, you fill in some form (I think) and they issue you a City University ID

I think you just need some form of ID so passport or driving license

I've seen some that require UCAS points, but these are at the top companies and even then, it's not a hard requirement, they just want to know how you transitioned from A Level to university and then improved.

But from my experience, a lot of them don't require A-Levels.

Do commuting students (who can't go five minutes back to their student halls to eat lunch) bring their own packed lunch from home or buy food?

Students do both, but it's down to you what you want to do.

There is a canteen in the main building. You can bring your own food from home (there's also microwaves next door) and eat it there or buy from the canteen. There's also a garden area with benches in the square near the front of the university.

Hi Cash!

This question is specific to your course I'm afraid so you may need to speak to your course leader. For me this was done via email, I just emailed the module titles to the course leader and they processed it from there

Hi UWS, im studying comp sci with games tech at city. Do you have any advice for the new comp sci students at city (from your own experiences)? What things would you have done differently if you had the opportunity to do the undergrad again? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I say always give yourself a bit of time every day to practice some programming. Your course is going to be very programming orientated so you need to learn languages like Java and C++ outside of your contact hours. I never did this and that's why I'm not that amazing at programming having graduated from uni, I did struggle a bit with some of the programming modules too. I would also suggest starting coursework early, this should not be taken lightly so do not start it the week before it's due. The coursework duration is set to give you as much time to get a good grade. It's not secondary school anymore, you need to put the extra time in to get a first.

Thank you for your detailed response. Im aiming for a first for sure so I will make sure im 5 steps ahead at all times. Also, I have had experience with programming coursework and starting it late, and its not a fun experience playing catchup and stressing yourself over deadlines. Another question is when do we start applying for placements? Im doing the 4 year undergrad masters course by the way.
