What steps are you going to take to get into your dream career?

Today's top graduate jobs are very competitive to get into so it's important to prepare early and start breaking in as soon as possible. So what steps are you taking or going to take to break into the graduate job that you want?

I'm trying to get into the financial industry so my steps are:
1) Get into early spring insight days
2) Network with employees I meet there
3) Use these connections to find out more about the application process and how to get ahead of the competition
4) Apply for work experience placements/ internships
5) Do really well on an internship and get an offer for a place on a top graduate scheme.
