ill just stay on campus  well if you both see me on campus come say hello lol, im proper scared now eek, and i have way too much stuff!
Regardless of which College you are put in you'll have to pay the £30 membership fee, this is for administrative stuff and helps fund the College so we can provide you with new facilities and events. The Purple Card is the Union card which acts as student ID, gets you students at loads of different places, and you'll need a Purple Card to join Union societies and clubs. Oh, and stuff like the Freshers Ball is again specific to each College and will vary in price. You don't have to attend if you don't want to though - not everyone will go.

Oh, and don't worry everyone feels nervous and awkward beforehand, that's why there is a Freshers Week, so that everyone can get to know one another

The last of my friends left yesterday so have nothing to do except pack but that means tidying/sorting out my room which i'm not looking forward to doing.
I'm Laura by the way  am doing BA Geography (thinking of swapping the BSc, the first year is identical either way)

Hahaaaa!

Well, yeah you can still buy a Purple Card when you arrive, this is done through the Students Union building on campus, and infact you can buy one at anytime throughout the year. Though it is best to get it fast before you decide you want to join societies and realise you can't because you don't have one (the Purple Card also gets you access to the Sugarhouse, the Union nightclub, and you don't want to miss out on that)

You can either pay the College Membership online beforehand, or you can just pay it when you arrive on moving in day instead. Probably easier to do it beforehand so you can get your keys and start moving in as soon as possible though
hi laura and lucie =]

whats the difference between BA and Bsci at the end then?
Btw, can any of you guys cook? I'm looking forwards to cooking for myself but i can imagine i have limited culinary skills hehe

Computer science is hard- and i got frustrated when my vista stopped working for me [technology iliterate here]

Well in the 2nd and 3rd year i would specialise in Human geography with the BA and physical geography with the Bsc, well that's the difference in Geography. The thing is i like both sides of Geography and can't decide which side i prefer. Am going to see what it's like in the first year as i do both sides and then see which i like the most. I can't cook at all, my birthday was recent and i got about 5 cooking books. My mum is convinced i'm going to end up giving myself food poisoning :P she's bought me what seems like a life time supply of noodles.

hmm, i dont know lol
mines Bsc Hons.
and am i right in saying you can choose another subject then swap at the end of the year if you like the minor subject better? coz if computer science proves to be too difficult im hoping to swap to my minor.
i can't cook, my level of cooking stops after super noodles, but ill just have to learn. the washing machines will be a problem for me, ill probably make a fool of myself. i know how to work mine, but the ones at lancaster may prove a problem xD
i get frustrated when my computer dies, but after that i just find it a cool challenge to try and fix it, and when i actually fix it, i feel like i have the power hehe x
add me on msn if you want
