anyone done work experience in a bank?

Just a question on how you secured those placements at the American IB's. I am finding investment banking extremely difficult to break into and get work experience as they typically only look at graduate level and I am year 13 A Level(18 years old). Do you know which banks they were and have any advice on how to apply?
