It should be valued equally but of course will depend on employers preferences
A lot of people do Joint Degrees purely on the basis of interest.
You wouldn't, for example, do History with Archaeology unless you liked it. It would simply be inane.
People also do joint degrees because the individual may want to specialise in a particular segment of the History - Such as Social/Economic history.
The question is, therefore, not whether employees would regard it as a better quality degree, but whether you enjoy it.
If you prefer Archaeology in combination as a minor to History then i'm sure you wouldn't be penalised anyway.

archaeology is a fascinating subject, i would be more than happy studying either of the two options ive mentioned, not due to career options but through a passion. however, because i am torn between a full history degree or a joint honours, im trying to narrow it down and wish for opinions :smile:
