I'm re applying elsewhere for next year. I was playing around, you don't need to take everything on the internet so literally.

Well, I've grown up in the country, I wasn't keen on being in the center of London. When I was applying I thought being in London would mean there was lots to do all the time, when in reality it equated to me never seeing the sky, walking around with zombies everywhere and being packed into the tube. I found the course rather uninspiring, whilst I was getting good grades etc, it just did nothing for me.

The workload began to pile up more and more, to the point where I thought I couldn't take 4 years of this, that the university and course wasn't right for me and that it was better to leave now than in 2 years after having a breakdown or something. I found the social life not what I really wanted, whilst yes I'm sure if you're a sporty person (or a medic :p:) or something you can get out there and have a great social life, or if you just happen to get really lucky with your corridor. It'd get to the evening and I'd text around everyone I knew asking if they wanted to do anything (the evenings where I wasn't bogged down with work myself) and would get a standard load of "too busy, essay" "too busy, exam", etc.. The odd time someone would come out we'd end up going to a pub for a couple hours and that was that.

It's quite ironic really, a couple of weeks after I left there was a "Beit Party Group" setup on FB I got invited to.. Shame I never had a chance to go out with them all :p:

None the less, I'm confident I made the right decision, it just wasn't right for me. I want to be able to leave university with a good degree and still say that my university years were some of the best of my life.

I'm reapplying for joint CS & Business for next year, hoping to go to Warwick.

True but at the end of the day I think it doesn't make any difference. My opinion

I got my offer by email about a week after the interview(EEE) but by email from Imperial, not ucas

The interviewer told me directly after the interview that I am given a conditional offer. approx 1 1/2 weeks later i got the the email. still waiting for the hard copy by post and a change in the ucas track.

well yess you are right...but you must also be lucky to meet those people especially in your halls..i have heard that at imperial students make groups from people of their country...
i hope its not like that...it would be horrible since i want to go there and meet people from all over the world.....and not only people of my country!

Yeah same here, at the interview it did seem as if there were some people wanting to have fun, and the guy who showed us around said he often went out.. I think the social life at imperial is just a myth :P(hopefully)

I agree with you guys, HOPEFULLY it's a myth... Otherwise we could set up our own "having fun" society...:p:

I'm Italian and have an offer for MechEng for next year, I want to socialise with everyone there! As ypu said, I've heard as well that there is a great number of societies for international students, where the internationals, expecially the Asians, tend to stay on their own :o:
