NON-RETAIL part time jobs?

All I see in this forum is threads for retail part time jobs. But what about other areas of part time work, like for example librarian assistant, data entry, general administrative work; anyone have any experience and advice as to getting these types of jobs? Also do you think it's easier, or harder to land a job like this?

Definitely. I do some good cash-in-hand work for a guy I know just because I know the guy. Also, years ago, I worked in my mum's school (she's a teacher) because they needed an assistant for the care-taker and she put me forward.

Jobs come to you like that, usually. EVERYTHING is about social connections, everything.
