yeah both cities are great  i think it has a pretty good rep and i liked that it was more of a campus uni too... it has plenty of facilities, personally i was looking for a printmaking space and a dark room, which it has both
Hey just got an offer for CCW Art & Design diploma! September start! I've never done a foundations in the UK setting before and apparently it's a whole different than what I've learned in Canada apparently. I've viewed the flickr links you guys posted. I'm really blown away. It's very well done. Can't wait to get to know you folks!

wow! lucky! i tried to, specialist in graphism (i'm from France!). finger crossed, congrats to you!
Hi I am thinking of doing BTEC extended diploma in art and design but not really sure what I would do after. I would probably go on to do an art foundation course but not sure what uni course I would then go on to or career I would pursue.

I was just wondering, as you are all doing an art foundation, if you could share with me what you are going on to do after your foundation year and after uni.

Thank you

if you want to do art but are unsure about what exactly to do, a foundation course would be perfect for you! most courses consist of experimenting in different areas such as fashion, textiles, graphics, 3d design/sculpture, photography.. and once you pick an area to specialise in, you can change it if you're not happy. it just gives you the time and knowledge to pick a career/degree path that's right for you.

Pls let me know when you hear something. I'll do the same! Good luck to you!

I was rejected at Slade (nothing ventured, nothing gained), but so far, I'm still waiting on everyplace else. Did you apply to Westminster?

I was accepted!! I'm really really surprised, and I still can't believe it. I think it must be a typo or something and they accidentally accepted me instead of rejecting me :s-smilie:
No I didn't apply to Westminster. I applied to Cardiff, Sheffield, Kent, Portsmouth and UAL-CSM. So far I've been accepted into Portsmouth and CSM but Sheffield rejected me, lols.

Is it worth doing the 2 year diploma then doing the foundation course and then doing a uni course? I am already 18 and I dropped out of year 13 earlier this year because I found it too hard. Are all these art course's hard work?

Hey, personally i think universities view art foundations and btec diplomas as equivalent so there isnt much point in doing both courses unless you are still unsure after taking one. all the art courses iv looked at they focus on your portfolio rather than your quaifications. i expect it to be fairly demanding and time consuming but i work pretty slow :P
anywayy good luck deciding!

Congratulations!! That is such great news! Will you accept? Is it conditional? Where are you from?

I have no update on UCAS yet...I have my AA interview on Wednesday.

you CAN go onto a degree without a foundation if you've done a btec, but it doesn't mean that your work will be good enough to get into a top course, nor does it mean you'll know what you want to do, which sounds like your main problem! so i'd still recommend it.

I probably wouldn't want to get on to a top course. Just an alright course. I spoke to someone today about the college and they said it was a really nice place and it sounds way better than school. So I really want to go to it.

Also sorry for slightly spamming up your board.
