I will try and be a good one then? I'm far too young to die.

Good ones enjoy maths being shoved down their throats :mwuaha:

Tbh, if you despise maths, you won't survive this thread :cute:

As a non-linguist, can I ask what the thing in your sig says?

It's a verse of poetry by the Russian writer Boris Pasternak, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature with his novel Dr Zhivago
It says in English:
Black spring! Pick up your pen, and weeping,
Of February, in sobs and ink,
Write poems, while the slush in thunder
Is burning in the black of spring.
(that's not wholly literal, but translation never is :h: I didn't write the translation either, poetry is so hard :zomg:) It has such a lovely sound when it's read aloud too :ahee:

It looks terrifying. If I commit to Analytic Philosophy will you let me off?

I suppose.

Only because it's wikipedia page claims it's based on "a respect for the natural sciences". Which includes maths. Obviously. :proud:

Some analytical philosophers like Russell and Wittgenstein attempted to use only Formal Logic and Symbolic logic to express ideas, instead of writing in the typical prose style of other philosophers as well, it's not something you can manipulate and isn't as merky as language. It's clearer.

They were Philosophers of Maths a lot of the time. :shakecane:
