Smash it out on the chest!
I felt quite proud of myself for the number of ways I worked dairy products into my midnight snack yesterday: pasta packet (including cheese powder) made up with both milk and butter, buttered bread, a lump of cheese, and a pint of milk. Then I realised that it was actually margarine rather than butter, which made me sad.

Still, I'm glad I'm eating more. I know most of it's water weight due to a change in diet and activity, but when I weighed myself in the gym on Friday I was just under 69kg, compared to just over 66kg on Monday.

I do.

Where do you play? At a mates house with the lads or at casinos? Any good?

I just started. Only playing online atm for fake money to practice.

Just shy of 5'8''. I would excuse my weight on the grounds that I've been out of training for ages, but at my strongest I was only 72kg

I mostly play in pub leagues at the moment. I play with mates semi-regularly and used to play online a bit, but it takes too much time to do properly imo.

If you're looking into playing online then I'd strongly recommend you do some reading about basic theory such as pot odds, continuation betting etc. It will help a hell of a lot.

Cheers man. Will read up on them.
Don't start playing for money online unless you're rather confident about your abilities.

Not saying you're ignorant but doing well in free games can start to make you think you're actually good - when you really aren't.

Yea. Playing with fake money is always going to be "easier" as you are more inclined to bet all of it and not worry about the consequences. I'm not going to play for real money until I know a fair bit about playing and tactics and stuff.

See you in 2 months when I'm winning millions in poker tournies. YEA PLAYA!
I used to play online with small stakes (like 0.50/1 sit and go games or tournaments with 10 quid entry) and made a fair bit of money out of it. I started off with a £40 deposit and withdrew 60 every time I reached 100. In the end I just got bored, it took too much time. Was always too scared to jump to higher stakes

There's nothing wrong with depositing a small amount and playing micro stakes (such as £0.01/0.02 cash games or £0.10 sit and go tournaments) as you're really never going to lose a significant amount. There are some definite advantages to this imo too. Firstly, the people you're playing against are more likely to play in a non-retarded fashion which gives you somewhat realistic opponents. Also, if you're playing for any amount of money, no matter how small, it is much better practise for you mentally than playing for nothing.

This was basically why I stopped playing online. I still play live because I actually find it enjoyable and don't just look at it as a potential income source, which is what online poker was to me.

The gym I'm at has a minimum 2 month contract, doesn't offer single sessions, and isn't all that fantastic (has the basics though), and I'm not too clued up on gyms other than that one.

Re: poker. You guys have reminded me to pressure the friend of mine who was suggesting he'd organise a game recently.

Your best is to get really drunk and play cash tables with £1/£2 blinds, then get a couple of gram of coke to stay awake and then if you win order in an escort. If it works you feel like a big time underworld sleeze that lives in LA or something.

Yeah this is true. The style of play is so different with play money. I can't play with fake money online or with friends, it's just too annoying when some mug calls your all in with a 7-3 offsuit and hits 7s on the turn and river or some dumb **** like that.

yeah. a mate of mine earns his entire living through online poker (that and the occasional modelling) and he plays like 8-10 hours a day. yawn

although probably better than getting a real job tbf
I play poker in a fun game once a week(8 of us ish £1 buyin) and online for fake money on fb...

Lab partner from last year plays online for real money though and in real life. Just won student UK champion and over 2k in cash last week and entry for him and a mate to a 500€ buyin tourney in Europe...

this is why I can't play poker online, takes tooooo long.

I'm more of an instant win guy lol
Yes I really like poker but when I play with friends I'll usually end up losing 'cause it can get very boring. Don't have the patience for it if it drags on.
My flatmate plays a lot of online poker, he is never off it and has been doing so the last few years and has made quite a bit money. Never has said how much, but a few weeks ago he started to learn to drive and he asked whats a good first car to get. I asked him his budget and he said only 10k...
I think everyone knows someone who has made a tonne from online poker.

I know of someone through uni who made 30 grand. He graduated back in 2010, and is still travelling the world. Pictures on facebook = im jelly :frown:

edit: just looked at his facebook, he bought a house in phucket, thailand 3 months ago.
