Hey I'm starting Mathematics at Bath in a couple of weeks (can't wait ) and I've got a list of recommended textbooks from the University. Now there is only one on the list that is required the rest are optional, however all the optional books come to a total of about £300 (which is quite a lot considering I may not need them or only parts of them). So I ask if it's worth getting all those books or just getting them from the library when needed? What if I cannot get the book out or should I just wait and buy them when I get there? This is for the first year by the way. Cheers for reading and I look forward to your replies.
Hi there! Well done on getting into Bath, my girlfriend goes there and it's an awesome University!
If you want, I would buy the required textbook, and wait until you start and have been there for a couple of weeks before you decide whether or not you want these optional books (speak to current students, you'll find most of them didn't need the textbooks they bought!)
