Does publication year matter?

Long time lurker, first time poster!

I'm currently looking at different editions of Ross and Wilson's Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Illness for my Access to Nursing course.

There are a LOT of different choices for the same frigging book! The only differences between the books are the publication dates (ranging from '87 to '06) and the prices.

I have a feeling that the newer one would be more up to date (don't know if I'm right) but it is just SO expensive. As I'm running a house, OH and puppy who are eating my meagre income away, money is everything right now. The only ones I can afford are the '96 ones and downward, but will this mean I'm reading different information to the '06 one? Confused!

Has anyone bought any of these and found any differences? Any help would be appreciated!

RLH
