Yes and no. Sometimes I feel an extreme urge to have them. But I cure this by going to a shopping centre and watching their parents suffer.

how about:
'I don't want kids cos I don't want to pass on this or that genetic problem/disease'
'I don't want kids cos they're loathesome aliens'
'why the heck should I have kids? you need a reason for having them not a one for not.'
'too much cost, too much bother'
