IB Subject Choices for Enginering?

I don't think it'll really matter, provided you are looking at a physics-based engineering course like mechanical, electrical, etc. DT is generally considered as a soft subject by a lot of top universities in the UK though, so I wouldn't recommend taking it at HL to maximise your chances.

I'm taking economics HL myself (along with maths and physics), but I wouldn't say it's that hard. The concepts are very simple and easy to grasp for the most part, though the exam questions do take time getting used to. Between SL and HL there isn't that much of a difference though, just a couple of extra topics and a maths-based paper 3 which is straightforward.
