Can your student loan be rejected for any reason?

For most full-time applicants there are a few basic eligibility requirements:

- Whether your course is covered by Student Finance (most UK uni degrees will be)
- Whether you've studied at uni level before, and if so for how long
- Your nationality and UK residency

Further info here:
https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies

If your personal circumstances don't meet the eligibility criteria either partially or wholly, then your entitlement to funding can be reduced or your application rejected completely.

Student Finance isn't credit checked, so if you have a poor credit record your application won't be rejected on that basis.
