Project partner at uni is pushing to see me more than is necessary?

I was put in a pair for a presentation with a guy I have never met on my course. He's a nice guy who is quite friendly. We text one another occasionally about the work but very often he states that he "needs" to see me. I have met up with him twice on such occasions but every single time he just starts to make things not about the work. "Do you have a boyfriend?" "Where are your parents from?" etc. Just topics completely unrelated to the work and when I take it back it's clear he had no intention/purpose for the meeting. He doesn't bring anything and stutters/seems nervous when I ask. I commute so it's very irritating. I told him to not ask me to meet him unless necessary and he said okay. This has not got through to him. "Wanna come clubbing with me and some of my mates?" etc. He's asked me out for drinks before, which I ended up going to to be polite. He seems so eager to get close to me and it's really getting annoying on my end. What do I do? He won't respond to my warnings.
"I'm not interested in you, sorry"
