Student finance parents income

Hello,

I am moving out to uni this month and my question is whether student finance asks for parents income if you move out?

I don't see as to why it should, if your parents cant support you financially it makes it unfair on me as the loan wont even cover my accommodation.

Yes, you'll still be assessed on you parents' income. However, you will be entitled to slightly more SF if you're moving away from home. If your original application was based on you living at home during term time, contact SF and ask to be reassessed.

Many under-25s have parents who can't afford to give financial help. That's a flaw of having to make the funding system finite in some way. Many students need to work in order to support themselves.
