No, I skimmed over it.

It seems you've had a somewhat 'sheltered' upbringing.

I did not realize that the definition of "sheltered" is not knowing if girls masturbate as much as guys do.
You will be in for a nice surprise if you get to see a girl wet for the first time.

You said "it's not as often as guys", so how often is it?

Not a specific number. Guys can get excited whenever they see a slightly revealing picture of a women, that doesn't really happen to us.

It's not 'sheltered' as much as it is poor sex education. As applies to boys, some girls masturbate, some don't, some do a lot, some don't. Naturally it varies, but yes a lot of girls do. It seems that girls don't talk about it because (first of all, there's no need? for anyone to discuss it like among friends?) it seems that girls' sexuality is stigmatised and so if you don't talk about it, it becomes taboo thus implying it's a bad thing. But being real, of course it happens.

Then you should know about getting excited...
Many, many woman masturbate, and many have high sex drives and are turned on a lot. Some women don't but a lot do.
It's just a taboo. Most people would take it for granted that a teenage male in their lives masturbates, but would be horrified to learn the same of a female, even if they are a woman who masturbates herself. Male masturbation and male libido is referenced and accepted a lot in society, but female masturbation and female libido much less so. Personally, I think male and female sexuality are at the same intensity and frequency but are just different in nature
Of course girls get 'excited', it's just that we've been socialized into thinking that talking about our sexual health openly is not 'lady-like' and it's often frowned upon.

Emphasis on the "can", although the internet can show some very graphical images...

I do know about getting excited, I was just wondering about the comparison against boys and the frequency.

i totally agree! I wonder if it will ever be accepted, like how being gay was unacceptable but now its quite common. But if nobody is willing to break the shell then this remains a taboo subject :P

How ridiculous :L

Excessive porn can change the mind on what turns someone off or on, hence it's not great for the mind because if you're finally going to have sex, there will be unrealistic expectations.
