not so nice parents
I just need advice. I don't talk to my parents because they are horrible people and were very abusive. Yesterday I got a text from my dad saying they sent me a card and present for my birthday and to call when I receive it. I got it today and I don't know whether to phone. Last time I did it opened up the communication between us and they got nasty after a while. What should I do?

Thing is they tried this last year and the year before. That is why I'm wary.
