Would you be happy on 40k per year as your final salary?

And what norms are they?

I suspect you are getting your "should" and "could" mixed up.

People could aspire to earn more but they shouldn't have to aspire for more, no matter what their circumstances are, just because someone thinks this is a society "norm".

Thanks for that socialist speech. You have totally changed my outlook on life :colonhash:
I wouldn't be happy with that.
My mum earns 12k a year roughly but still has her own house and two kids, both in late teens, not sure how you guys seem to think it's not enough.

Depends on the career for me. If that pay compensated for the responsibilities and stresses of the job, sure I would be happy. However if the career was rewarding for me, yet still very stressful, I would care less about the salary as long as I could live comfortably.

Ah, the naivety of some. With an attitude like that you'll be lucky to earn 30k.

What did you do at 18 years old to earn 30k?

What did you run a business on the first time and what do you plan on running a business on the second time?

Hardly anything socialist about what I said... but maybe those "norms" you speak of are just your own aspirations, rather than any norm.

As I'm someone who owns their own house and business, you are clearly mistaken in your assumptions.

Well done *claps* you have clearly taken too much out of the system and must stop!

Hahaha, funny man we have here! Nah, I'm far from a peasant - I run two side businesses already.

What businesses do you do if you don't mind me asking.

:adore:
I wouldn't if it was 5 years ago in a 200k+ household. But now on barely 30k, I don't mind.

As a final salary though? Really?

I'm the same re: near £200k ---> £30k but I'd much prefer the former.

Well combined both parents. But since we moved (:colonhash:), it went down drastically. Aeronautical engineering at airbus ... those were the times.
