What can I do to make my personal statement stand out for a fashion marketing course?

Hi,

I'm really interested in applying for a fashion marketing course at university next year however I don't know what I could do before I write my personal statement that would make me stand out and what I could write within my personal statement. I'm thinking of getting work experience over the summer in a clothing store and also getting work experience within a marketing company. Is there any other experience I could try getting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You could check for free online courses from places like futurelearn or saylor.org and see if they have something related to fashion or design.

Read examples of other personal statement for the same course, and see how they are written and try and not write in a similar boring way. So pretty much try to write in a way that it feels only you can write it, and it isn't similar to others.

Do you have other interest apart form fashion marketing, such as art? What about for marketing, such as a book or

You should try to show some of these skills in your PS through using some simple examples from your work exp:

Anything that will show that you have an interest in the field and know what working in it is like. It may be an idea to do some reading around the subject and talk about some fashion brands whose marketing strategy you can comment on.
