Hi,

With the new application process starting on 1st October 2015 I just wanted to start the new thread for people to discuss the new applications and Q&As.

Good Luck!

The process is a sift test, 3 other tests online and then an assessment centre. I applied last year and missed out but got offered a HO position (starting salary now of £29,068/annum)

Depends what type of work you are in to. tax isn't too bad imo.
Hi, do you have any tips on the tests ? And of any online practice tests ? Thanks
Hello,

Just thought I'd let you know they have changed the application date to the 1st of October 2015. It has been pushed back.
I will be applying this year, too. 😊 Good luck to everyone.

If you have a look at the website they mention that for stage 1 you will take a maximum of four tests.

If you Google situational judgement practise test, you will find nice examples and I believe on jobtestprep a good practise test.

On the assessmentday, jobtestprep, SHL, Kenexa (provider of Civil Service test questions) and numerous other websites you will find free numerical and verbal reasoning practise tests available.

As for the work style questionnaire, I cannot be of much help because I haven't got to revising for that yet.

Good luck and get revising.
Hi, thanks so much for that input. I just looked at those websites and they will be really handy in revising 😀👍. I just noticed the date has been changed too, at least it gives us a bit more time to revise I guess. 😱 good luck !!

No problem. 😊

You are right, it does give us more time. Are you by any chance applying for the fast stream too? I guess the fast stream tests will give us practise too.

Thanks and good luck to you too!

I did all of my applications today. Does anyone know when you hear if you are through to the next stage or not?

How do you log in so you start applying?

Google seems to just take me to a general CIvil service job site

You must sign up to the website and search for the job once logged in for it to show up
Just got an email saying you can't use banked scores for the CSIST! Be interesting to see on the retake if I score higher or lower...

So did I! Seems rather pointless tbh but sure why not waste some time, money and resource and make people do the same thing twice - makes sense lol

Will be completing this maybe tomorrow day
Ive just completed the sift test and i received feedback that i performed 49% better then people that took the test previously.... I don't think this score is going to be good enough :frown:

I think it will be fine. The ones that really count are the numerical, verbal and competency questionnaire.

thanks
