Can loan amount change at any time?

Hi,
I am very confused about my loan situation, I'm on my last year of study and this hasn't happened to me before and I dont know if this is a mistake. I am calling student finance about this on monday.

I got a letter from student finance dated on 15th of september confirming how much I will receive for this academic year. Note that it says CONFIRM.

Today I log into my student finance (10 days later) and I come across this:

If this isn't some sort of a mistake, they basically scrapped my grant and upped my maitenance loan without getting in touch with me about it. Is this normal? I am getting way less now if this is a real thing and I don't know how I am gonna cope. Luckily I have been paid my grant for the first semester.

Do things like this happen? I' really stressed because it is looking like ive just lost all my grant and my maitenance loan is upped. I haven't had such a low loan so far.
