Why do attractive guys assume all unattractive girls want them desparately?

I've dealt with this a lot. I'll be minding my own business, just going about as usual and some normally very attractive guy will get creeped out by my presence. It doesn't happen with average guys as much and it never happens with unattractive guys or any girls. It's like they get this impression I am supper attracted to them and they avoid me like I'm a creeper, the same way you would avoid someone who was very obsessively into you who you didn't like back. They go to great lengths sometimes to do this by practically screaming at me "I have a girlfriend!"

The thing is I never even interact with them most of the time. I don't even have to say "hi" for them to do this. And if I did say "hi" in a completely normal way they run for the hills like I just declared my love for them. And no. Not even one of these guys I have ever been attracted to. So why do they assume this so strongly? Even when I'm clearly with someone else they still seem to think I want them. I don't. It's ridiculous. Most people don't have a problem with me, but it annoys me when they act so horrid and even try to turn people against me in a few rare situations...

I have other ugly female friends who say the same happens to them. Especially in nightclubs, where men will ac#actively avoids them when they haven't even done anything. I understand that people have a right to not be attracted to me obviously. It's just sad that they always assume i want them and then act so childish about it...

Some people don't like to socialise with members of the opposite sex unless it's for dating, so maybe those people are just socially inept and mistake your friendliness for a come on (I know, ridiculous right?). As for nightclubs well I know some men just don't want to get stuck with a girl they're not attracted to and have to say no to, because some people react badly when rejected so maybe they think it's easier to avoid? I don't know really, just speculating.
Vanity, arrogance and hubris on their part.
