A2 Coursework History,HELP MEH

Hiya,basically my choice for my A2 coursework is 'Asess the short term significance of the Cuban missile crisis (from whatever years,perhaps 1960-1964)
My dilemma is that xP pretty pathetic i know,i have a couple of arguments but would appreciate any ESSENTIAL information that would maybe show the examiner that im not a total tool.Btw i got a B in AS and would like to maintain that grade as history is honestly my weakest and i cant afford to drop to a C.
Any short-term impacts is appreciated!

Both sides realized that they almost started a nuclear war that would have destroyed the Earth, so they agreed not to directly target each other again.

They notably set a hotline between Moscow a Washington to solve crises faster and prevent a similar escalation.

Cold war entered a new phase after this crisis - the détente - and both superpowers fought each other through allied countries and far from their borders (Vietnam, Israel/Arabs, etc.).
