I know that you have to find your own accommodation in the 2nd and 3rd years, is this accommodation far from the university? Is it bus or walking distance? How long?


Depends on how much you want to spend, you can live 30mins walk away for £40-50 per week, or you can expect to pay £70+ to live less than 5 mins away (directly opposite the library).

To be fair you get used to whatever. If you want to have a spare grand or two over the people living nearby you will probably end up in Nevilles Cross or Gilesgate (I know it is useless chucking names at you as you won't know much about the city, but you will learn quickly). There are always loads of houses and a lot of people rush to get one and a lot of them get real stinkers of a house...

You'll be told everything you need to know in your first year. Also don't forget that you can always live at your college for more than one year :smile:

There are some free bus services and others you will have to pay for, but to be honest you have to be lazy not to walk.
