Should I do a Placement year?
I'm in my second year studying Biological Sciences and I have the option of undertaking a year in industry next year, everyone keeps telling my how important a placement is, however I wish to go straight into a masters and then most likely a PhD right after. In this case would a placement year still be helpful?
Very. You can collect all the degrees you want but nothing makes you more employable than lab experience.
Yes it would be helpful due to the experience you will get.
Not to mention you will be in a better financial position which will definitely help when you apply for your masters as you'd have to fund it yourself.
