Very easy compared to others however some of the wordings were quite awkward haha and it was a paper that you could easily make mistakes on! But I do think an A* will be around 168-170

Relative to others, this exam was very easy.
The top scorers in the country - I don't see them scoring less than 170, so that may be the A* grade boundary.
It'll likely be 82% for an A*, so 164 marks. 170? Don't be ridiculous. The exam was perhaps "easy", but "easy" exams in the past have generally settled around 82%. I really don't think we're going to see 85% and still see a reasonable distribution of A*s.

For 2011-2014 the average was 163.75 and this years paper was around the same hardness as those right? I think I may have scraped one!! thanks for finding this

It's fine, I'd already found them all anyway because I was worried about whether I'd got an A*. Well done! I think I've just missed one which is annoying, but we'll have to wait for results day.
I personally thoight this paper was harder than other years, I did all of them as practice papers and found them significantly easier, but other people thought it was easier so who knows

In terms of hardness and complexity I would say it was really just your average Edexcel paper, the hardness in this spec hasn't increased or decreased much. People just freaked out last year because of that Hannah's sweets question. When actually the rest of the paper was relatively normal..

Also you shouldn't be looking at papers before 2012 as Edexcel made alterations to the specification, I would predict that it would be around 165 as it probably was the same hardness as 2014
It was a fairly easy exam. Not too hard or not too simple.
Why am I the only one that in the exam I found it really hard lol? But looking back and the answers I got, I actually got most correct, so I might scrap an A (which would be phenomenal for be) but most probably a high/solid B.

I think people like myself focus on the things I really didn't get, and not the stuff that you got 100% correct.
This exam was ridiculously easy compared to last years , I'm a resit student aswell *

I think the new specs for maths started in 2010 or 2012 lol forgot. But if you notice the 2013 paper has the highest grade boundaries, perhaps suggesting the easiness of the paper. I've done the 2013 paper and can definitely say that the 2013 paper was sooo much easier than the one we did. However, only a set amount of people will get an A* so grade boundaries will be based on how many people they want that will get an A* and the complexity of the paper.
So even though the 2013 paper was much easier I do feel the grade boundaries will be higher this year, maybe around 168-170 and if they're feeling verrrry evil then around 172 (personally think this is very unlikely however it's not impossible). I would say to everyone focus on your last few exams instead of working out grade boundaries. What we say and predict about the grade boundaries won't actually do anything so it's a waste of time haha. I'm sure all of us did better than we think we did!

Good luck everyone only a few more exams until the desired 10 week summer holiday is here!

What do you think the boundaries would be for an A?

Don't forget that even if your answer was wrong, you'll still get marks for working out 🙃
