German related gap year

Hi, i'm new here - apologies if this has been posted in the wrong place.

I have started working on my personal statement, and I have obtained references from a number of teachers in my school, but i've realised I think I want to defer my entry, and go to uni the year after next, after taking a gap year.

Anyone who wants to/already has studied any German-related course in uni, please could you tell me of any good german related schemes there are for gap years? it would be very much appreciated. :smile:

Apologies for asking this, but i'm not very clued up with the whole UCAS and gap year thing.

I dont know if this is what you would want to do, but I am going away on a 6-7 months volunteering in Berlin from next February.
It is called the EVS scheme, completely funded by the EU, and you will work as a full-time volunteer on a chosen project that you select.
