PhD Studentships - expenseses/bursaries

Was having a look through the THES and the jobs online website and saw various Phd studentships beinbg advertised with their benefits as such.

It seems like £12 000 a year plus tution fees is the norm - saw one for £10 000.

Is this a standard figure or can they vary? I know there's less money in History than the Sciences.

Just wondering really as a PhD studentship with teaching is a dream come true for me
yeah they do vary, i got offered ones from 10k - 16k. plus fees paid. it all depends if its co-sponsered by a company, or its in a shortage area, or if the studentship is an endowement as opposed to govt money.

for history you would be looking at c. 12k outwith London and £14k in london with govt funding. But they do vary
