To rep someone you just have to click the blue thumbs up/thumbs down icon towards the top right hand corner of their post; looks a bit like this: but don't worry about it, I'm just glad it's useful :p:

How much do you guys roughly spend in a week? I know this depends from person to person. I'm really sociable and love going out and meeting people. I'm a moderate drinker. Max I'll spend on a night out is £10 just on drink. Also how many times do people roughly go out in a week?

As you've said, everything varies depending on the person. There's a few things to consider:

Shopping; often about £30 a week, but this depends on how much you buy and whether you opt for the Tesco value range instead of the quality stuff :p:

Going out; there are events at the union almost every day, every week, and of course the vast majority of events cost money (not much, but still money). You might spend up to £10 a week on entrance to events depending on how much you go to. Then there are drinks and stuff. Not too expensive, not too cheap. Of course it depends on how much you want to drink.

Clubs/Societies (as in, canoe club, swimming, rifle shooting etc. rather than night clubs); some clubs are free after you've paid the initial (usually negligible) fee, but others you pay every time you take part. It depends on the club.

You'll probably find you'll pay more during the first couple of weeks than you would per week for the rest of the year. How many times do people go out.. well this depends on the person as well. Some people go out every day and wake up with a hangover every day, some people just go to Top B on Mondays and maybe the odd event at the weekend... I dunno, an average maybe 3 or 4 nights a week to the union? It really depends on the person.

Personally I found that I was spending an average of £40-£50 a week when I settled down into university life, but it varied from week to week. Sometimes it'd be less, sometimes as much as £80.

Can anyone give an insight into Discrete Maths? I tried to combine Computer Science and Maths but it will really be helpful if someone can give a specific one.
Thanks in advance

Hi would anyone be able to write a description of biochemistry or biological sciences? Thank you

The course for Biochemistry is very tough to begin with with high contact hours from the offset (what with Warwick starting lectures from day 1 etc), but does get less intense after week 5 of the first term and then less intense each term after that.

That said, despite the course being interesting, being thrown in at the deep end to start with made it difficult to make friends other than people on my corridor and now, just under halfway through 2nd year, I can say I'm not enjoying the university experience.

think i got 10 lectures, and 4-5 seminars per week. Work is a lot if you want it to be (doing all the reading and preparing well for seminars), but you can get away with working considerably less, as along as you prepare for tests and do good work on your essays. Economics1, World Politcs and Introduction to politcs are all good modules so far. But not sure if I like the Mill and Descartes one. Feel free to ask for anything specific

How's the teaching quality and class sizes? and does coventry ever get boring

The teaching quality in economics and politics have been great so far imo. Especially the economics1 lecturer is amazing. Philosophy is not as good, but guess i might be biased as i don't like it as much as the other two subjects. Lecturers are in big rooms with several hundred people, and than we have seminars with approximately 10 people in them. And there is always office hours or e-mail if you are wondering about something. To be fair I haven't spent much time in Coventry. Mostly on Campus (which is good, but it gets a bit old after a while), and in Leamington (which I really like, lots of nice restaurantes, bars and some cool clubs).
morse anyone
