What sounds like a better degree to have?

Criminology and Psychology or Law and Criminal Justice, in your opinion?

Particularly based on job opportunities after graduation and what would open more doors in the future.

Is the law degree a qualifying law degree?
Which do you think you’ll get the best classification in?

Hi there,

Really depends on what career you want to do in the future as to which would be most suitable or sound the best.

From a labour market point of view, we are expecting to see more job growth in the legal sector than the social sciences professions and the retirement rates in law are also much higher creating a lot of job openings.

However if you wanted a career in psychology and criminology we are still seeing growth in the next 4-5 years.

Do you have any career ideas at the moment?

Thanks - Sophie.

“There comes a time when you ought to start doing what you want. Take a job that you love. You will jump out of bed in the morning. I think you are out of your mind if you keep taking jobs that you don't like because you think it will look good on your resume. Isn't that a little like saving up sex for your old age?” Warren Buffett

Criminology and Psychology combines two of the most over-subscribed subjects of the last 10 years and the ones with possible the fewest number of graduate level opportunities. Choose whether doing them as a joint degree improves that situation or not.

Unless the law degree is a qualifying law degree, that option is not much better. Think hard about whether in either case, you will be putting the debt to good use.
