Hi I was talking to a friend whose friend wants to do
French (this she will apparently complete A2 in the first year) Spanish Russian Music (all to A2) + one other subject
She's very good at languages and music (obviously) and apparently not good at Maths & Sciences. Apparently she wants to do another subject in addition to those listed because she thinks three languages is "too specialised" and music is only useful if you want to study music and not for anything else (except being fun), and she thinks she won't have a problem with the workload because she's very good at languages and music. However she doesn't want that fifth subject to involve too much work (lol), i.e. it shouldn't involve coursework (or fieldwork). For this reason she doesn't want to do history or geography. She doesn't want to do english lit because she'll do literature topics in the languages so she wants something different.
I said this is a case for TSR & I'd be happy to pass on any suggestions you may have, thanks.
it's gonna be pretty hard to find a subject without coursework or fieldwork i was actually gonna suggest english lit or lang but you've already said she doesn't want to do that...
Sociology coursework includes 'fieldwork' to an extent as your supposed to go and interview/questionnaire/observe people so this could potentially be a pain for the ops friend. But to point out that it's going to be a social science if not Maths/Science which all require coursework/fieldwork so i think you pretty stuck to be honest.
It's up to the person, General studies is generally not considered as part of uni offers, but it is still an A level, I mean, really for uni offers, she's got more than enough good strong A levels... so GS may not be that bad of an idea...
What do you think, what is the most respected out of
Philosophy Religious Studies Psychology Law Sociology Business Government and Politics
to be combined with first-post subjects for language study at university? + currently she wants to go into journalism/media/something like that afterwards.. but that might change.

Thanks for your replies.
Religious Studies would be more respected than the others.I think it's considered the most academic out of those. But if she wants to into the media I'd say Govn't Politics would be more useful I think or Sociology.
Er no i don't think language a levels are good. they would be abnormally, mind-blowing and difficult so don't ever do it unless you're an ace and know the language inside out!!!!1
