agree with this comment! going to a "top" university doesnt guarantee that u will achieve higher than going to one slightly lower down a league table..

and the comment about 7 years is because u have 3 yrs LLB, 1 yr LPC/BVC and then 1/2 yrs training added onto that degree if u go that route though

I agree with you to a certain extent but if he has the chance to go to the very best unis possible for Law and overall then he should as long as he can do something constructive in his gap year. You wont necessarily achiever higher as you said but he should aim for the best and at the top of the tables. Yes QMU is a pretty good university and people would kill to go lol, but he can go better if he wishes as long as everything else is in tact PS, reference etc
