Hi,
I am one of City's Student Reps, and have just graduated from nursing.
I would say if you do not meet the entry requirements I wouldn't apply for that course directly and would apply straight for the foundation course, as this would be the more suitable option, as optometry at City is a very competitive course, so to avoid disappointment and to get the best chance of pursuing this degree I would apply for the foundation year, as you meet the entry requirements.

There is a chance to change course when started however that is done through a formal process via City and you can get more information from admissions at City if you do go down this route.

Hope this helped!

How does your uni help with mental health?

There are a lot of facilities within City, that contribute to helping with both staff and students mental health. At City, we have a 'Student Counselling, Mental health and Accessibility' services which is open to all City students. This service can be found in the form of face-to-face appointments, or even virtual appointments.

Got an offer from bayes business school!

Congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, what subjects did you do and what grades are you predicted?
I applied for the MSc Financial Mathematics programme at Bayes Business School and received a rejection email within 2 weeks. It was quite shocking because I had decent grades and 2 years of work experience in a systematic hedge fund. They could have at least kept me in the process till they receive a good number of applications to compare with. I wasn't expecting such an early rejection to be honest.
I received a contextual offer for BBB for law
I do Psychology Sociology & Law
Predicted ABB

Definitely! The workload, as expected, has been tough but City has been great at supporting me throughout. The course has several tutorials (which are smaller groups) that occur fortnightly with an academic to make sure you’re understanding all the content and it allows you to ask questions and clarify doubts. Being with a smaller group helps you gain perspective and hear other opinions you may not necessarily have access to in a typical lecture. You always have contact with people who can help you out in whatever aspect of uni life. Also, at the end of 2nd year, you can choose to specialise by doing the commercial law pathway (so even though you pick LLB Law in your UCAS application, if you do certain modules your title will change to 'LLB Law with Commercial Law'). If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a PM or reply in this thread! :h:

Congratulations! You will definitely have a good shot at meeting that criteria, but City is also quite flexible come results day. Just focus on your subjects and meet your personal goals for your A-Levels - City will be here waiting for you. :h:
