Should I resit or do an alternative course?

I am going into my foundation year for Biomedical sciences and am unsure if I should take my course, defer or resit.

I originally wanted to go into pharmacy but failed my chemistry A level so I couldn't get into any pharmacy-related clearing course.
Luckily I was offered Biomed however I am unsure if I should go.
[ I don't hate the idea of being a biomedical scientist however I am worried about career prospects]

I know that transfers to pharm are possible but difficult and that I am not guaranteed better grades or a place if I resat, yet I still cannot make a decision. I've also heard that things will be much harder in 2023.

I feel like the best idea is to go with this course or defer my entry and resit during my time off. Feels least risky to me [please correct me]
I'm also too afraid to call my school [Kingston] and ask if I can defer. Like they could take my place away? If anyone knows anything please let me know!

ps. How would resitting affect my pharmacy application? For medicine I know you need to attain higher in some cases, is it similar?
