If you've applied to Menton, I think it will mostly be in English, probably with some French, but I'm not certain.
The document says "The interview will be in either French (if the Paris campus is chosen) or English"
However, a friend of mine applied to Menton last year, and did it in French.

i went yesterday

how was it then?
I did my interview on Friday, thought it went well, generally just a question of knowing the universities, the programme, and the geographical specialisation, as well as explaining your own motivations and experiences.
Hi, I’m planning to apply for this degree next year, at the Poitiers campus. I was just wondering what language ability in French and Spanish the people who are applying to Poitiers on this thread have. I’m in year 12 doing A level Spanish and French and I try to practice independently as well as much as possible, but I’m nowhere near fluent.
Honestly do you think this language level will be enough? I’d love to do this degree but there wouldn’t be any point me applying if I couldn’t cope with the language when I got there. I guess I could always take a year out to improve first.
What do you think?

Well done for getting so far to everyone, and good luck!!

Hello !
I just did my oral today and the teachers told me that all the interviews take place in English this year, except for the Paris campus

I've been accepted for the normal degree at Poitiers and I had an interview for the Dual Degree at Poitiers last week, still waiting for the results.
I speak near-fluent French, doing IB French B, but I'm not fluent, and I speak only very basic Spanish, and it doesn't seem to have been a problem. I didn't have to speak any other languages in the interview, so I think you would be fine. The minimum French requirement for Poitiers is B1, which I assume you'll have by the end of A level French, in addition to a good command of English OR Spanish. So presumably you'll have at least B1 French, at least B1 Spanish, and native English, so honestly I really wouldn't worry about it.

Regardless of what your level is, once you're in France your skills will improve very quickly, and you don't have to do any humanities courses in Spanish until the second year, so you have all of the first year to reach the necessary level.

It sounds to me like you're in a good position in terms of languages, and speaking both languages obviously shows your interest for the Poitiers campus. As long as you're doing a social science as your 3rd/4th A Level you should be good.

Contact me if you need any more info, closer to the application too, I'll be at Poitiers from August onwards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! This was super helpful, and has given me lots of hope that I can do the course. I’m doing history as my 3rd A level so that should be ok.
I hope you have an amazing time at Poitiers, whichever degree you end up doing.
Merci beaucoup

Maybe I'll see you at Poitiers next year
Did your Spanish get tested in the Dual Degree interview for Poitiers? I had mine earlier this week but they only tested my French very briefly and not my Spanish which I was surprised about and I'm kind of worried it might have been because they knew already I wasn't going to get a place haha...

No, they didn't test it, not even the French. I asked at the end of the interview if they needed to test my French and they said no, but I guess they can look at our grades and tell?
