MSc in Computing - OU - Opinions / Reviews please

I’m looking at starting a MSc in Computing with the OU. Following the software engineering route.

Has anyone done this course? Any opinions and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve not studied at degree level before, but I assume I can qualify as having industry experience as I am completely self taught as a programmer and have been working using Java daily for 4.5 years. I work as the only software engineer at an engineering company so I will have no peers within my company to ask for help and guidance.

However the company has agreed to pay for the course and give me some time to study during work hours.

I also have a young family so need to ensure time commitments to them are also maintained.

Any opinions on the course in general, levels of understanding needed and quality of the materials etc would be most appreciated.
