Is my 6th form study leave happening too late?

Every Y13 in my 6th form is angry at my school for allowing study leave to begin on 18th May. My first test is exactly on this date (Economics) and I think it's unfair to not allow us to study at home at least a week before. It's so useless to come to school because they said that all we're doing is studying in class when we can just do it at home.

In the end I'm afraid, it's just up to the sixth form. It's often considered a benefit as you can have your teacher there to help you, but obviously this depends on what kind of student you are, and where you get your motivation. I knew a sixth form that didn't have a study leave at all, instead just having a specialised revision timetable that students would have to follow around exam season.

So, while it may seem unfair (and in my opinion it's unfair not to allow the choice to come in), it's not unheard of, and it can be helpful for many students. If you think you really need that time before economics to prepare, you can always try emailing your Head of Sixth form/someone with authority there, and seeing if you can get at least a couple of days off before to prepare. Some heads can be lenient regarding this, so it might be worth a try.

Sorry about that, but best of luck with your exams! Hope all goes well
