Is my accomodation too expensive?

My accomodation hasn't been decided yet but all my choices were about 8k. I will receive the maximum maintenance loan amount of 9.4k. I applied four days after it opened and the cheaper ones were already mostly gone... I thought it would be alright since it's a catered accomodation and it's about 10minutes from the law building so there shouldn't be a high transport cost. My parents are going to pay for train tickets when i come back home, and I have a job currently and am planning to do more hours in the summer to hopefully save money. Does that sound doable or should i be looking for cheaper accomodation.

It just seems my accomodation is quite expensive, I am hopefully going to university of nottingham and all of the ones I saw were above 6k. The rooms i selected did not even have ensuite included which I thought they should considering the price
Does anyone know if it’s possible for me to contact SFE as I believe I am entitled to more maintenance lon than I have been given?

I guess it depends on how often you see yourself going out and socialising, and buying food when your hall doesn't provide it (even with catered halls it is unlikely that all meals are covered). Work out if it would be cheaper to self cater - you should be able to manage with a weekly food shop of around £40. Not all students who have firmed and chosen their accommodation will achieve their offers, so some spaces in cheaper options might open up. Contact the accommodation team to see if you can change or be put on a waitlist for the cheaper halls.

Alternatively, you might need to look for a part-time job.
